Case Result Date: October 22, 2021
Practice Area: DUI
Outcome: Not Guilty
Description: People v. JH, Citation No. 20 DT 1830 | My client saw Illinois State Police officers looking at him so he turned off his lights and backed up onto a small hill in a subdivision off of I-355. When the police encountered him he had scaled a fence of a private residence. He scaled back over the fence. Although he was armed with a firearm, he had both a FOID card as well as a Concealed Carry Permit. The case video showed my client performing the field sobriety testing reasonably well. He did not look, sound or act impaired. After a trial by judge, my client was found not guilty of the DUI. He was found guilty only of improper backing (a petty offense) and given supervision (a non-conviction), fine and court costs.
